Waterton, Edmund 'Dactyliotheca Watertoniana: a descriptive catalogue of the finger-rings in the collection of Mrs Waterton', p.64 no.1 Described by Waterton as ' Iron signet; device a bust of Serapis between two stars , supported upon a griffin. The griffin is the usual symbol of the solar deity and shows that Serapio here is considered in that light.'
