physical_description
Girl's Alpine costume, consisting of dress with laced bodice, and apron [Dress] Dress of unlined red cotton, the neck squared at the front and rounded at the back and edged with a pleated frill of white organdie. The puffed sleeves are also of white organdie, edged with machine made white lace to match that on the apron. The bodice has an open lace-up front over a white organdie panel; the neck front and bodice edges are edged with white ric rac braid and red braid woven with gentians, rock roses and edelweiss in blue, orange, white and green. The skirt is attached to the bodice in unpressed pleats, and finished with bands of ric rac and flower-patterned braid to match those on the bodice. The garment has a stitched carrier loop for the apron at each side of the waist, and fastens at the back of the bodice with four red plastic buttons and stitched buttonholes. [Lacing cord] Length of three-ply white nylon cord knotted at each end and used to lace the bodice of the dress. [Apron] Girl's semicircular apron of unlined white organdie edged with machine made white lace to match that on the dress sleeves, and lightly gathered into a self fabric waistband which extends into ties
