physical_description
Baby girl's romper of checked silk patchwork lined throughout with white polyester cotton. The patchwork, which is machine stitched, is made up of five colorways of the same fabric, patterned in a gingham type check: pink and white, green and white, yellow and white, orange and white, aquamarine and white. The sleeveless garment has a rounded neck with a Peter Pan collar of self fabric, finished with a frill of pink and white checked silk; the (non-patchwork) bodice is also made of pink and white checked silk, cut in three parts, with matching rouleau piping at the waist and binding at the armholes. The lower part of the garment is gathered into the waist, and finished at the crotch with divided legs (each of which is gathered into a frill at the hem). The garment fastens at the front placket (right over left) with five bound buttons and stitched buttonholes, and at the crotch with five pearlised plastic buttons and stitched buttonholes.
