These are a series of archival photographs produced to illustrate a collection of furniture entitled, Weeds, Aliens and Other Stories, commissioned by the designers, the images also appear in a limited edition book named after the collection. The furniture collection was commissioned by the British council for the Window Gallery for the councils premises in Prague.
Photograph, AO size mounted on aluminium depicting a piece of furniture described by the designers as Meeting “A piece of indoor furniture to grow and look after. A place to meet and make up when lovers become neighbours.” The photograph shows a couple arguing. A woman sits on the chair crying as her partner looks on behind her. The seat of the chair/bench is covered in turf instead of a fabric. Designed by Michael Anastassiades, Anthony Dunne and Fiona Raby for an instillation called “Weeds, Aliens and Other Stories” in 1998.
