Porcelain vase, beaker-shaped with flared mouth, in imitation of a bronze vessel. Applied with relief decoration of characters and foliage on a raised band, between figures of the Eight Daoist Immortals above, and sprays of plum blossom below.

Sprig decoration found favour in China during the 17th century. It was used to embellish the white porcelains of Dehua and redwares of Yixing, both of which were exported and much imitated in Europe.
