Titian's original painting was destroyed in 1867 by fire in the Capella del Rosario (Chapel of the Rosary, built 1582) in the Basilica di San Giovanni e Paolo, Venice, where the painting was deposited at the time of the fire. Martino Rota also made prints after this painting, see DYCE.1301 and 1302.
